REALITY CHECK

REALITY CHECK    This is the elephant in the room with electric vehicles. Our residential infrastructure cannot bear the load. A home charging system for a Tesla requires 75 amp service. The average house is equipped with 100 amp service. On our small street (approximately 25 homes), the electrical infrastructure would be unable to carry more than three houses with a single Tesla each. In case you were thinking of buying hybrid or an electric car... Ever since the advent of electric cars, the REAL cost per mile of those things has never been discussed. All you ever heard was the mpg in terms of gasoline, with nary a mention of the cost of electricity to run it. At a neighborhood BBQ I was talking to a neighbor, a BC Hydro Executive. I asked him how that renewable thing was doing. He laughed, then got serious. If you really intend to adopt electric vehicles, he pointed out, you had to face certain realities. For example, a home charging system for a Tesla requires 75 amp service.

WELCOME TO THE (UNNECESSARY) MEGA FIRE GENERATION!

WELCOME TO THE (UNNECESSARY) MEGA FIRE GENERATION!   By Del Albright, Retired Fire Chief 25-30 years ago, a 10,000 – 15,000-acre fire was a huge conflagration. Now we are experiencing 100,000 - 400,000-acre fires regularly. I would like to offer an explanation based on over 30 years of government service including 26 years with the fire service, as well as beginning my fire career with a Master’s Degree in Prescribed Burning. NO! It is not just global warming (climate change). NO! It is not understaffed or ill-trained firefighters. NO! It is not Mamma Nature getting even with our urban sprawl. NO! It is not careless campers or hunters. NO! It is not kids with matches. YES! It is a combination of many things but more importantly it is the LACK of forest/brushland/grassland management caused by wacko, radical enviro groups imposing excessive regulations and restrictions on our ability to keep the west safe from wildfire. Here are the key takeaways from this article: · T

Recycling Old Turbine Blades Poses Problems for Harnessing Wind Energy By Nathan Worcester September 22, 2021 Updated: September 22, 2021 bigger smaller Print After pictures of old wind turbine blades being buried in a landfill began to circulate online last year, the wind power industry moved to emphasize its commitment to sustainability, with Siemens Gamesa recently unveiling a new recyclable blade for offshore installations—but critics have questioned the industry’s sincerity, as well as its willingness to bear the full costs of operation. “Up until recently, the industry has not made an attempt to discuss recycling of blades,” Lisa Linowes, director of The WindAction Group, which is critical of wind power, told The Epoch Times. “Until those photographs started showing up in Wyoming of hundreds of blades being laid out in a landfill, the industry was

Scientists, studies & data agree: ‘Global warming’ not fueling acceleration in sea level rise – ‘Miami Is Sinking, But That Doesn’t Mean Sea Levels Are Rising’ Analysis Debunks Absurd Sea Level Rise Claims About South Florida  – Sea level rise in the Miami area is not accelerating and it is rising at a rate of about 1 foot per century. Climatologist’s sea-level rise study disputes climate-disaster predictions – In many cases, ‘half of the sea-level rise is really from land sinking’  -    “ Miami Is Sinking, But That Doesn’t Mean Sea Levels Are Rising” Sea level expert Geologist Dr. Nils-Axel Mörner ridiculed the claim in Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth that Florida would be half covered by rising seas. “These are models. They are doing it wrongly, and this is lobbying. Geologic facts are on one side, lobbying
